The same value is also written to your browser’s local storage under the same name, so the correct theme is applied instantly on your next visit without waiting for the page to load. It is a display preference. It contains no identifier, is never sent anywhere except back to this site, and is not used to recognise you.

If you never touch the theme toggle, this site sets nothing in your browser at all.

What is not set

There is no session cookie, because there are no accounts. No general-audience analytics or behavioural advertising service is active on this site, so no analytics or advertising cookie is set. No affiliate attribution cookie is set: outbound partner links carry no per-click identifier and leave nothing behind in your browser.

Third-party sites you reach by following a link from here set their own cookies under their own policies. That is outside our control and begins the moment you leave this site.

Consent

A strictly necessary preference cookie that you trigger yourself, by choosing a theme, does not require consent under the common cookie rules, which is why you are not shown a consent banner. If we later add anything that does require consent, you will be asked before it is set.

Removing it

Clear cookies and site data for this domain in your browser settings, and the theme preference disappears. The site will then fall back to its default appearance until you choose again. Nothing else is affected, because nothing else is stored.
